Clean energy not only protects the environment, but it’s also helping to boost our economy. Learn about how renewable energy plays a key part in restoring our planet as we reflect on our contributions this Earth Day.

What is Earth Day?

Earth day is an international annual event celebrated on April 22nd to demonstrate global support for environmental protection.

The event was first celebrated in 1970, when a United States senator organized a national demonstration to raise awareness about environmental issues. This led to rallies taking place across the country and by the end of the year, the U.S government had established the Environmental Protection Agency.

Since then, Earth Day has grown significantly and is now celebrated worldwide, as environmental protection has never been more important.

The transition to clean energy

At GEV Wind Power, we know how important our role is in the transition to clean energy. Our mission to keep wind turbines running as efficiently as possible makes GEV a cornerstone in the struggle against the climate crisis.

Maintaining wind turbines mean that we are able to support the growth of wind power and in turn, reduce the dependence on more harmful fossil fuels.

In the event that the wind turbine blades become damaged or simply lose their structural integrity through erosion from wind and rain, their efficiency and ability to produce power reduces dramatically.

Our wind turbine technicians are a key part of the global transition to a more sustainable future. We are proud to be helping in a small way to accelerate the change.
