GEV UK Training Academy
GEV Training
Training solutions designed to help build confidence and raise industry safety standards.
GEV Wind Power opened a UK based training academy at the beginning of 2021. Located within the HOTA training centre, GEV Wind Power have firmly established training courses that develop our technicians in-field capability in relation to blade inspection, repair, maintenance, and upgrades.
Industry expertise further compliments GEV Wind Power’s robust training course frameworks, with training academy instructors demonstrating a wealth of experience with many leading global wind turbine blade OEM’s.
Through the development of our technician’s skillset, GEV Wind Power is able to offer unrivalled in-field service excellence, providing our client base with the confidence that their scope of work will be delivered to the highest of standards.

The inception of the Training Academy in 2021, enabled GEV as a business to enhance existing skillsets with our LEP in-field resource, whilst also allowing us to train highly skilled technicians client specific application methods and techniques. The long-term vision of the Academy, will further strengthen our competitive advantage, as we continue to deliver unrivalled service excellence.

Building new opportunities
In 2023, GEV established a new on-blade training package in collaboration with The Port Training Services, which would be integrated into the training programme led by GEV’s UK training team.
Based in Blyth, UK, the wind turbine training facility is a unique asset consisting of a 33-meter-high decommissioned wind turbine that can facilitate rope access blade repair/retrofit training on the blades.
The initiative improves preparations for safety rescue drills, combining it with enhancements to develop skills associated with LEP application.
GEV technicians have the opportunity to conduct rope access procedures & technology applications in a true-to-life simulated environment, providing a unique space to put their skills into practice in a real-world environment.
