GEV Wind Power representatives recently attended the SGRE NEMA Region Annual Contractors Safety Conference held in Amsterdam and were awarded the Major Projects Division Overall Winner for Safety Performance Delivery. The award was proudly received in recognition of the positive safety observation reporting by the technicians deployed on SGRE MAJP offshore projects.

This follows the major success and significant milestones achieved in 2022, led by our QHSE team and in-field technicians – most notably, the achievement of over 1 million manhours worked without a reportable incident or LTI. GEV saw an incredible increase in safety observations being reported and a Total Recordable Injury Rate (TRIR) of zero across all divisions.

The award is a clear recognition of the approach we take at GEV in encouraging proactive health & safety reporting and highlighting that our technicians are leading the industry in raising awareness around safe working environments.

Mark Keen, Senior Account Manager EMEA, who was in attendance of the conference stated:

“It was a great honour to collect the award on behalf of GEV and it really is a huge well done to all employees and contractors that have worked with us in recent years.

At GEV we work hard to create a culture where you can communicate your needs, state your limits, and say “NO”. Everyone’s safety is our priority. Nobody within our team should feel uncomfortable reporting near misses or unsafe work practices.”

We anticipate further progression and continuous improvements throughout 2023, as our QHSE and Operations team maintain close collaboration alongside our technicians to maintain high standards of safety observations on active and upcoming projects.

Health and safety is always at the heart of what we do at GEV Wind Power. We’re proud have a team who truly value the importance of QHSE which is reflected by the vigilant reporting of in-field safety observations.

Making sure that potential on-site hazards are observed and suitably assessed allow our expert team of in-field talent to work efficiently, reduce down time and maintain an incident free working environment.
