As the wind industry continues its rapid expansion throughout the USA, GEV Wind Power US LLC has brought its specialized wind turbine maintenance services to Rhode Island, establishing its US headquarters in nearby Quonset. This puts GEV in close proximity to America’s first commercial offshore wind farm, off the coast of Block Island.

Following major success through GEV’s Texas Base, this latest development looks to generate an impressive 125 jobs for the Rhode Island region. GEV Wind Power are expected to generate $3.5 million in sales, income, and business corporation taxes for Rhode Island over 12 years.

Rhode Island Commerce Corporation approved financial incentives for GEV Wind Power in June amounting to 1.9 million dollars over 10 years.
Once hiring is complete, GEV is expected to bring an almost $14 million increase to Rhode Island’s annual GDP.
