GEV Group are delighted to have been awarded Cyber Essentials Plus Certification, August 2018.

The assessment is a government funded cyber security scheme, delivered by The National Cyber Security Centre, a part of GCHQ. The Cyber Essentials Plus Certification allows for more rigorous testing and independent accreditation by CREST.

GEV gives the upmost importance to protection of data and information in line with IT industry standards. As a result, The GEV Group’s clients, partners and employees can be confident in our proactive approach to cyber security.

The annual cyber assessment runs alongside continuous development of inhouse systems. This includes training of employees to develop best practice in the work place, further enhancing our cyber security footprint.

With the number of criminal cyber-attacks on UK businesses increasing, cyber security can no longer fall by the wayside. According to the NCSC annual report there is a growing threat from data breaches to ransomware, consequently nearly half of UK businesses suffered cyber-attacks in the last year. Some high-profile cases draw attention to the level of damage that can occur. The most recent victim beingBritish Airways. It is with these threats in mind that GEV Group are putting heavy focus on protecting client and customer data in line with new GDPR requirements.

The Cyber Essentials Plus tests a company’s cyber vulnerability including an onsite technical assessment. The process carried out by DigitalXRaid, cyber security experts and 2018 cyber security award winners, is further enhanced by our recent implementation of the cloud-based malware protection; Cisco Umbrella. The Cisco Umbrella malware defence tool has been deployed across all laptops, desktops and mobile devices; cross platform (Microsoft Windows, Android and IOS operating systems).

The GEV Group can be found on the directory of organisations awarded Cyber Essentials alongside our clients Siemens.
