GEV Wind Power celebrating safety success on major Leading Edge Protection (LEP) campaigns

GEV Wind Power is celebrating safety success as we near the completion of a major Leading Edge Protection (LEP) campaign led by GEV’s UK/EU division.

The campaign is a major milestone for GEV and the wider industry as the largest offshore LEP campaigns ever conducted in the North Sea.

The work which started in April this year, has been undertaken by a team of 66 wind turbine technicians across two major offshore wind farms and has seen the installation of 1600+ LEP shells on 411 wind turbine blades to date.
This has been a testament to the exceptional level of productivity, safety and quality shown by the team, with record safety reporting showcased over the season.

We have recorded >60,000 working hours against the project to date, with no recordable incidents or injuries. During this period, we have also raised a project record 550 safety observations and helped to make the offshore working environment a safer place.

GEV Group CEO, David Fletcher, UK/EU Managing Director, Chris Sarel, and Project Manager, Jack Nicolson, joined the team on board to present certificates of recognition to the top safety contributors, recognising the outstanding commitment to workplace safety on site.
We would like to say a big thank you to all of our technicians and back-office team who have played a crucial part this season.

The work we do at GEV Wind Power is only possible thanks to the dedication, commitment and collaboration of everyone involved.
